I’ve lived in this house in Teddington, just off the High Street, for 30 years. I moved here from Whitton where I shared a house with my mother and my family. When I first moved into this house there was a noisy factory which made exhaust pipes. It then changed to a printing firm.
In the 90’s there were a lot of different, small houses - since then there have been lots of extensions on the roofs, going higher and higher.
It was very quiet in the street, there were only two cars in my road at the time, now of course every family has one car at least.
St Albans has changed so much of course, it’s now called the Landmark Arts Centre at the end of the High Street. When I came here it was a big disused church, but in the mid-1990s they turned it into what it is now, and there are lots of concerts and events on there.
